FutureHouse, a company backed by Eric Schmidt, has officially
launched a suite of AI research agents designed to transform the scientific discovery process. These agents — Crow, Falcon, Owl, and Phoenix — specialize in different research workflows, such as general research, deep literature review, identification of relevant prior studies, and chemistry-specific tasks.
The company claims these agents reach superhuman capability in literature search and synthesis, outperforming PhD researchers and existing models. Accessible via web or API, the agents feature transparent reasoning, enabling researchers to track decision pathways.
This development positions FutureHouse as a frontrunner in a rapidly growing space, where AI systems aim to handle the deluge of scientific data. While many labs chase similar visions, few have operational products. FutureHouse’s release is a signal that AI will soon be embedded in every layer of the research process.
