ElevenLabs has released a full-length album created using its Eleven Music model, showcasing human-AI collaboration across a wide range of musical styles.
The 13-track project spans genres including rap, EDM, spoken word, and Brazilian funk. According to ElevenLabs, each participating artist retains full ownership of their work and receives 100% of streaming royalties.
Some tracks are entirely machine-generated, while others blend AI-produced instrumentals with human vocals or use licensed voice models from ElevenLabs’ marketplace, where artists explicitly consent to how their voices are used.
The release arrives as major record labels have shifted from litigation to partnership with AI music companies. Universal Music Group, Warner Music Group, and Sony Music Entertainment all signed licensing or collaboration deals with AI music startups over the past year.
Why it matters: AI-generated music was dominated by legal battles and backlash just a year ago. ElevenLabs’ album signals a potential normalization phase, where AI is increasingly positioned as a creative tool rather than a threat — provided ownership, consent, and compensation are clearly defined.
