Hackers Leak Data from North Korean Government Hacker

13-Aug-2025

Hackers claim to have compromised the computer of a North Korean government hacker and leaked its contents online, providing a rare glimpse into the secretive nation's cyber operations. The hackers, Saber and cyb0rg, detailed the breach in Phrack magazine, distributed at the Def Con conference. Kimsuky is believed to work within North Korea’s government, targeting journalists and government agencies in South Korea and beyond. They also conduct cybercriminal activities like cryptocurrency theft to fund North Korea’s nuclear program. This breach offers unprecedented insight into Kimsuky’s operations, as hackers directly compromised a group member rather than relying on post-breach data analysis. Read more: Full Report
