Google updates Veo and unveils Flow, a creator workflow for controllable AI video

17-Oct-2025

Google published an update on its generative video roadmap, detailing new capabilities for Veo and introducing Flow — a creator-focused workflow that helps plan, control, and refine AI-generated video. The company positions Flow as a way to move from loose prompts to structured, repeatable shot creation while Veo gains quality, consistency and editability improvements. Full post: Veo updates & Flow.

Why it matters: early AI video tools were impressive but difficult to steer. With Flow providing a repeatable shot-planning workflow — and Veo adding better control and editability — Google is aiming at real production use cases: previsualization, ad concepts, social spots, and creator projects that require multiple consistent shots. For teams that need versions and approvals, the combination promises less “prompt roulette” and more craft-like iteration while keeping provenance and safety front-and-center.
