Salesforce to Acquire Informatica for $8 Billion to Build Unified AI-Data Platform

28-May-2025 :

Salesforce announced that it will acquire Informatica for approximately $8 billion in a transformative move to unify enterprise AI and data management capabilities. The deal brings together Salesforce’s Einstein platform and Informatica’s CLAIRE AI engine to build what the company calls 'the ultimate AI-data platform'—trusted, explainable, and built to scale.
The acquisition is set to supercharge Salesforce’s suite of products including Agentforce, Data Cloud, Tableau, MuleSoft, and Customer 360. With Informatica’s powerful Master Data Management (MDM) and ETL capabilities, the combined stack is expected to deliver deeply integrated, secure, and responsible enterprise-grade AI.
Marc Benioff, Chair and CEO of Salesforce, emphasized that the integration will enable autonomous agents to operate with enhanced intelligence and context, marking a critical step in enterprise AI evolution. The acquisition is subject to regulatory approvals and other customary closing conditions.
