19-May-2025 :
Ottogrid, formerly known as Cognosys, has been acquired by Cohere, the enterprise AI company known for its secure, private deployments. The Ottogrid team, including co-founders Sully and Homam, will join forces with Cohere to integrate their smart table technology into Cohere’s North platform.
The acquisition aims to extend table-based automation capabilities across enterprise workflows, helping customers enrich data, automate tasks, and scale operations more efficiently. Ottogrid will be sunset as a standalone product, with the team promising ample notice and a smooth transition for current users.
This integration is expected to boost Cohere’s presence in enterprise data solutions by embedding Ottogrid’s collaborative, structured data workflows within North. The platform now enables AI-driven smart tables that operate across various business surfaces, offering richer insights and operational clarity.
The acquisition comes during a time of internal turbulence for Cohere. According to The Information, the company missed its 2023 revenue projections by 85%, and has since shifted strategy to focus on private AI deployments in sectors such as healthcare, government, and finance. As of May 2025, Cohere reports reaching $100 million in annualized revenue, per Reuters.
Sully, co-founder of Ottogrid, announced the news on X (Twitter), expressing excitement over the team’s new chapter and reaffirming support for existing users. While the exact transition timeline is still being finalized, more details are expected soon.
This strategic acquisition reflects a growing trend of AI companies consolidating capabilities to streamline enterprise data management and broaden customer value through embedded intelligence.
