Granola Raises $43M at $250M Valuation, Unveils Collaborative AI Note-Taking Features

15-May-2025 :

Granola, the AI-powered note-taking startup, has raised $43 million in fresh funding at a $250 million valuation, signaling rising investor interest in productivity-focused generative AI applications. The round was led by Benchmark, with participation from existing backers like General Catalyst and a group of angel investors including early adopters.
Granola initially gained traction for its seamless AI meeting summaries, voice capture, and transcription capabilities, all built into a user-friendly app. Now, the company is moving a step further by launching collaborative features that allow teams to work together in real-time on meeting notes, annotations, and shared action items—all powered by AI assistance.
With these new tools, users can invite teammates into live notes, tag colleagues for follow-ups, and rely on AI to track decisions, summarize key points, and suggest follow-up tasks. These capabilities aim to make Granola more than just a passive notetaker—it now becomes an active productivity partner embedded in the meeting workflow.
Granola’s growth comes amid a surge in enterprise demand for AI-enhanced workplace tools that reduce cognitive load and administrative overhead. CEO Arjun Gopal emphasized that their focus is on minimizing friction in meetings while helping teams get more done with fewer distractions. With the new funding, Granola plans to scale its engineering team, expand integrations with tools like Slack and Google Workspace, and deepen its AI capabilities for team-oriented use cases.
The note-taking space is heating up with competition from players like Notion, Otter, and Google’s own AI transcription features, but Granola’s real-time collaboration twist may give it a unique edge in a fast-evolving market.
